Jeffrey Weber was born and raised in upstate New York. He started drawing and painting at an early age and discovered this was something that he HAD to do.
Working on his first production in elementary school, he designed and painted scenic elements. Never one for being in front of an audience, he lent his skills and interest to being behind the scenes. After graduating high school Jeffrey went on to SUNY Cortland to complete his bachelors degree in fine art, with a concentration in drawing and painting. While in undergrad he devoted his personal time painting for nearly every theatrical production that was put on at the university.
Following the completion of his undergraduate work, Jeffrey went to work for a NY summer stock theatre – his first real job in the theatre world. Through this experience he found himself able to financially sustain his lifestyle and have an outlet for his creativity and skill; he decided to make theatre his chosen profession. Jeffrey spent the next few years working at various theatres as a scenic artist. A move to Nebraska offered him the opportunity to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, as a Scenic Design grad student, where he recieved his MFA in Scenic Design. He has been a professional Scenic Designer, full time, since finishing his graduate work.
